Aura's decision to open up a store in old town Lansing was a bit impulsive. She had the money, she thought, so why not. Ah, but what to sell? Stuffed dogs and monkeys, orange scented candles, red streams of ribbon, slippers and sandals, elegant aprons (backless or with strings), these are a few of her favorite things. Funky foreign music provides an inspiring backdrop as visitors peruse her wares. And peruse they must. Gifts and goods are arranged by color rather than type. Purple cake mix boxes stand next to purple soap. A tangerine candle shares space with an orange bottle of perfume. One must dig deep to find all the hidden treasures at October Moon. And what is the hot ticket item? Chocolate covered bacon by Vosges, of course.
