As an account executive for Truscott Rossman, I help manage client accounts and fulfill clients’ strategic communications needs. Every day is different. I’m able to strengthen and expand my skills in media relations, issues management, grassroots initiatives and much more. I thrive in the fast-paced work environment and am relishing being surrounded by so many great people that are the best at what they do.

I was hired to work on Camtasia Relay, TechSmith software that allows people to record their lectures from anywhere and share them to a server or learning management system. My hope is to write software that makes people's lives easier. I am also responsible for innovating the latest software solutions to address customer problems. 

I am going to help find stories for Capital Gains to publish. Just like the title says, I will seek out any new related to innovation, any new businesses, and any new job hirings in the capital area. A portion of the work consists of getting out on the street and keeping a look out for anything new. The other part is based in tracking social media and following local businesses through their online presence. When that's all done, I come up with a lead, and it goes off to the editor.

Lisa joined the Michigan State University Alumni Association as Director of Alumni Career & Business Services on May 1, 2012. Her primary focus is to develop effective networking and resource channels for experienced alumni interested in professional development and job search strategy assistance. Additionally, Lisa works directly with corporate, education, foundation and government partners seeking to attract qualified talent, retain and develop good employees, and establish collaborative relationships in line with their established goals and objectives.

In my role as the Information Technology & Media Talent Director for Michigan’s Workforce Development Agency, I am responsible for directing all agency activity related to the IT industry cluster.  I am a member of the WDA’s top policy advisory staff and participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programs critical to the mission of the agency.  As the key talent contact for the information technology industry, I assist local workforce and economic development partners to bring in resources to help with recruiting needs at all levels, advise on common talent challenges in the IT industry, help provide referrals to community colleges and other training providers as well as assist with customized training for employers.  I also serve as the point of contact for the IT industry into all talent resources within the Workforce Development Agency and Michigan Economic Development Corporation and help facilitate regional and local employer councils.

I work with customers to ensure they have a positive experience purchasing and installing software. I communicate the benefits of our products, handle customer concerns, and work to troubleshoot and resolve any issues.

Truscott Rossman’s vice president manages public relations and communications strategy for local, statewide and national clients while supporting the oversight of the firm’s operations.

As a public relations coordinator I compose and edit internal and external communications including weekly newsletters, email updates and special reports. I also assist with media relations, social media, advocacy efforts, and patient safety and quality initiatives

I finally found a position where I can apply both my creativity and business acumen to a significant growth opportunity.  I will be working with a cross functional team at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®/INTERNATIONAL, INC. to expand the company’s franchise locations both nationally and internationally.  Currently the company has over 200 franchise locations in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and Ireland which equates to 3500 movers and 1400 iconic trucks.  I am starting with a priority of expanding East and West coast franchise locations.  In the process, I will get to work with prospects that are looking at starting their first small business or expanding their current franchise footprint.    
 
I am proud to be a part of this company with a great culture that is headquartered right here in Lansing.  I was treated to the best first week on the job ever.  I can’t wait to look at a franchise location map a year from now and see what this team accomplished.

The Michigan Apple Committee engages in market development, research, education and communication to enhance the reputation, improve target market share and ensure production sustainability of Michigan apples.

As the marketing and public relations intern, I will be assisting in promoting the Information Technology Empowerment Center (ITEC) through various communications channels including press releases, web content, social media, events and print materials. I also will be involved in the grant proposal process through research and writing for grant funding. I am looking forward to learning about non-profits and fund development from a communications standpoint.

In my position, I will maintain the relationship the Food Bank Council of MI has with the Food Assistance Program (FAP). I work with community partners to assist potentially eligible food bank patrons with applying for food assistance benefits. I will also act a liaison for multiple programs to maintain relationships centered on advocating for those in need.
