Design of the Flying Test Bed and Ground Test Equipment Duct systems for Jet turbine engines. Role includes providing detailed design / 3-D models for the assigned systems, leadership of a team of designers, customer interface and schedule coordination with the Customer Service and Operations departments. Fixed bondment design may utilize metal, composite, or a hybrid design based upon meeting the design objective dictated by the customer specification. Customer specification would include, but is not limited to, Aero lines (Loft lines), Engine interface points, Pylon interface points, fire seal definition, pressure profiles for various in-flight conditions, temperature profile and aircraft maneuver loads. The design application would include 3-D model generation, management of the generation of the assembly and detail drawing packages on principally Pro/E and Unigraphics (UGNX) or CATIA as required. Perform component structural analysis for the analytical validation of the design using ANSYS and/or NASTRAN. Provide shop floor coordination between Engineering and Operations Departments. Interface with customers and vendors as required. Train and mentor junior Design Engineers, Contract Engineers and Coops.
