Web Development/Design Intern

We are seeking to fill an internship position to work on internal and client initiatives. Ideally, we would like someone with a public relations/marketing interest who also has some web design/html knowledge (though web design is not a must).

This position is available to current students interested in sales, marketing, public relations, advertising, web design and information technology. Responsibilities of this position include developing and managing organic and paid search marketing campaigns, developing and delivering client reports, business development, performing web analytics, and potentially working on our site.

10-20 hours per week

Applicants should possess a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet technologies. Strong communication and organizational skills are a must. Strong analytic thinkers and problem solving skills are also preferred.

This is an IT Student Assistant position.  As such the employee will support the agency in a variety of Information Technology endeavors.  The roles that they support would be a key factor and may include one or more of the following activities:

Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of applications used by various state agencies.

Participate in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of public-facing and internal web sites.

Work with those responsible for the overall quality, operation, design and security of the web site, in addition to daily routine support.

Participate in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of IT applications written in a variety of development languages.

Database management tasks including database design, creating and running queries and stored procedures, forecasting future growth, migrating to newer versions of the database, performance tuning, SQL query optimization, and assisting with data migration for newly developed applications.

Participate in configuration management and release management tasks with database administrators and application developers.

Assist database administrators, application developers and business owners to ensure the quality of application updates by doing configuration management.

Assist with the development and administration of quality control standards and software testing methodologies.

Using the assigned Division's change management process and tools, control the application software change process to ensure that version retro-grades do not occur.

Develop operational and installation procedures for communication systems, hardware, network security, storage and software.

Responsibilities:
  • Record, edit, and produce marketing and other types of videos
  • Responsible for video, audio, and photographic support throughout marketing, and other departments as needed to support TechSmith and its products
  • Assist with implementing, monitoring and optimizing marketing video campaigns in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist with troubleshooting all marketing video campaigns as they go live and when errors arise
  • Communicate project details with stakeholders and other team members
  • Collaborate with marketing video producers, writers, product managers, and other stakeholders to meet goals and optimize campaign performance
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in video and digital media production
  • Working knowledge of current digital video, audio, and graphic software tools (Camtasia Studio, Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe After-Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Audacity, etc.)
  • Experience using video production hardware (digital video cameras, microphones, lights, etc.)
  • Current knowledge of Web-based digital media concepts (compression technologies, aspect ratios, file formats, etc.)
  • Must have attention to detail, ability to work autonomously within a larger team, and excellent organizational skills
  • Need to work well independently and in groups, inside and outside of the department
