Customer Support Technician

Liquid Web Inc is a rapidly expanding web hosting company which currently operates three Data Centers in the Lansing area.  We have continued to make major expansions into the managed dedicated and virtual private server markets.  While the majority of our operations are Linux-based, we are continuing to expand in the Windows managed hosting market. We are accepting applications for Customer Support Technicians to work directly at our Lansing, MI Data Centers.          
Job Duties:
  • Provide professional and friendly support consistently via telephone and electronic help desk
  • Troubleshoot and solve a wide range of customer support issues from basic to complex
  • System monitoring and response
  • Operating system and application installation/configuration
  • Performing scheduled maintenance
  • tasks
Skill Requirements:
  • Solid working knowledge of RPM based Linux Distributions
  • Solid working knowledge of Windows Server 2000/2003
  • Experience with Apache, BIND, and IIS preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team based environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • One year previous experience preferred
  • Ability to work at our Lansing, MI Data Center required

We are accepting applications for Enterprise Support Technicians to work directly at our Lansing, MI Data Centers.         

Job Duties:

  • Co-Manage customer accounts and provide basic capacity planning assistance
  • Troubleshoot and solve a wide range of customer support issues from basic to complex
  • Develop custom solutions for expanding customer setups
  • Troubleshoot and support internally developed engineering products

  • Operating system and application installation/configuration
  • Performing scheduled maintenance

Skill Requirements:

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst

The State of Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget is currently seeking an Information Technology Programmer/Analyst.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Perform as an analyst/programmer to design and develop advanced Java components for the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB), in support of the Office of Retirement Services' enterprise level retirement application. Typical assignments would include the creation of new program components, enhancing application functionality, and analyzing and resolving problems with existing code, in adherence to Application Support Team (AST) standards and development methodolgies. This role requires the ability to independently develop technical specifications based on written requirements, programming Java code in a J2EE environment using the Websphere Application Studio Developer (WSAD) environment, accessing relational databases, performing unit tests, creating test plans, executing system tests, and managing software merges for developed code. In addition, individuals in this role provide technical support to others on the AST including review of assignments, code, test results and problem analysis.

The Application Systems Analyst position supports the college's administrative computer applications. This includes planning and coordinating the implementation and subsequent maintenance of college-wide administrative computer systems and application software used to provide data for college business operations in a timely and efficient manner. This includes defining requirements, developing and testing systems, solving problems, preparing related documentation, and acting as a technical liaison to ITS (Information Technology Services) and other college personnel.

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst

Description:
This position functions as an entry to advanced level Information Systems Analyst/Programmer on the Central Office Support Area.  The employee will participate in a variety of assignments that provide for the development, enhancement and maintenance of the Local Accounting System Replacement (LASR) and Bureau Information Tracking System (BITS) Wed applications in a complex environment.  The architecture and specifications for LASR is a complex computer system in Oracle Financials.  This analyst will need to have skills in Oracle, SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, and Oracle's 61 Development tools and use other Oracle tools as well as skills in .Net, Web Development and Business Objects.  This position also will assess user problems and needs, design, develop, implement, and develop database applications in support of the Department of Human Services.  It is expected that the employee will become familiar with Agency Service and [procedures and assist in development and maintenance of highly complex computer applications.

Requirements:
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, or mathematics.

Experience
No specific type or amount is required.
 
Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, mathematics or equivalent; and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician may be substituted for the education requirement.

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician may be substituted for the education requirement.
