the past four years. Its payroll has climbed to nearly 70. And its
chief executive, Andrew Kotarba, has been named to a key advisory
position at computer server maker Sun Microsystems Inc.
That
kind of growth—steady revenue and a few jobs at a time—is exactly the
kind of company Doug Stites says Lansing needs to revamp the ailing
local economy, which has seen its jobless rate rise.
"They're
growing. They're running counter to the cycle that is adversely
affecting others in the more traditional sectors," said Stites,
president and chief executive officer of work force development agency Capital Area Michigan Works.
