Briarwood Realty to Open New Office in Downtown Lansing

Briarwood Realty is opening a location in Downtown Lansing, making it the first real estate office to set up shop in the Downtown area in the last 30 years.

“I think that makes a huge statement about our confidence in the area,” says Briarwood President Bill MacLeod. “For the first time in years, we’re watching Lansing become a destination.”

MacLeod says it’s an interesting time in Lansing real estate. The new developments are mixed use properties that include retail space and condos, which lays the foundation for continued growth, he says.

Eight to ten existing realtors and administrative staff will move to the office. MacLeod says the company may need to hire new branch employees depending on the growth they experience at that location. The new branch will open in the Stadium District in April 2008.

“I guess this is a compliment to our mayor and our city council, because they are pulling out all of the stops to make Lansing the vibrant community that it should be,” he says about BriarWood’s decision to move Downtown.
