Capital Gains Speaker Series Sign Up: Urban Gardening and Farming

In less than a week, some of the most knowledgeable urban gardners and farmers in the region will convene at Perspective 2 Studio in Old Town to tell us what they're doing to sustain the region, what we can do to sustain ourselves and where we can get the resources to do it all.

At our second speakers series, we'll explore all facets of urban gardening/farming. What does it mean? How is it evolving? What impact will it have on the region and the health of area residents?

The event is from 5:30 p.m. to roughly 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 27 at Perspective 2, which is located at 319 E. Grand River Ave. in Old Town. The speakers will present from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. with Q & A and networking to follow. Pop, water, beer and wine will be provided.

Confirmed speakers include:
    •    Linda Anderson, horticultural consultant for the Eastside and Southside
    •    Anne Raucher, Garden Project director
    •    Joy Baldwin, food project director of the NorthWest Initiative
    •    Allison Burkholder, Allen Neighborhood Center
