Editor's Pick: Capital City Dragon Boat Race

Downtown Lansing will be abuzz with cheering, music and more this Labor Day Sunday at 8 a.m., thanks to the amalgamation of the inuagural Capital City Dragon Boat Race and the Michigan Mosaic Music Festival.

What is a dragon boat race, you ask? Exactly what it sounds like it is: a race of boats shaped like dragons! The tradition is more than 2,000 years old ... and it's coming to the Capital region. The race itself will run from the Lansing City Market, north to Adado Riverfront Park, with the Athletes Village in East Adado Park.

Spectators are encouraged to watch from either side of the river or the Shiawassee St. Bridge, where you can also take part in the festivities at the Michigan Mosaic Music Festival.
